Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept insurance?

The practice is currently in- network with Aetna and Optum (UnitedHealth) insurance plans.

If you are out of network a detailed invoice (known commonly as a Superbill) can be provided. Superbills can be submitted to your insurance company for potential reimbursement under your out-of-network coverage.

When contacting your insurance provider to inquire about your out-of-network mental health coverage, here are some important questions to ask:

1. Does my insurance plan include "out-of-network" coverage for mental health services? If so, what is the coverage percentage or reimbursement rate?

2. Is there an annual deductible for out-of-network mental health benefits? If yes, what is the amount of the deductible, and has it been met?

3. Does my plan impose a limit on the number of therapy sessions it will cover per year? If so, what is the maximum number of sessions allowed?

4. What is the coverage amount per therapy session with an out-of-network provider? This will help you understand the portion of the session fee that may be reimbursed by your insurance company.

How much does therapy cost?

During the initial session, which is an evaluation to gather comprehensive information about your history and therapeutic needs, a fee of $195 will be charged for a 53-minute session. This session allows us to gain a deeper understanding of your unique circumstances and develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to your specific goals.

Following the initial evaluation, subsequent therapy sessions will be billed at a rate of $175 per 53-minute session.

Many insurance plans provide coverage for out-of-network therapy visits, which can significantly alleviate the financial burden of paying out of pocket. It is recommended you contact insurance provider to determine the specific details of your coverage.

Do you see clients in person?

Currently, I offer therapy exclusively through virtual sessions. However, to ensure compliance with regional licensing and jurisdictional regulations, it is necessary for clients to physically reside in either Maryland or Washington, D.C.

When are you available?
